A huge update!

So I know I have been a major slacker on our blog lately. (I have heard about it from a few people...mostly my mom) but it seems like the days are just flying by! We have been busy around here just trying to keep up with school, getting ready for Thanksgiving, studying for finals, getting ready for to have Christmas early, and mentally preparing to fly to Utah with three kids!! We are also trying to have fun in between everything! Here is an attempt to update the past few weeks.....

I went to enrichment one night and obviously daddy is way more fun than me. These are the pictures that he took of the boys and their pillow fight. I know that the picture above looks like Owen is done for, but Joseph assures me that no one was injured.
Just having fun!

So a couple of weeks ago all of the kids got sick. They just had a cold and I thought they were getting better. Well, Owen and Kael got better, but poor Aidan got worse. He ended up with croup and a sinus infection and had to go to the ER to get a steroid shot and a breathing treatment so that he could sleep. Therefore....we have reached a milestone in our lives. Our first trip to the ER in Omaha. I am surprised it has taken us this long! Hopefully, it will be our only one!

Grandma Sid loves to send packages to us. She sent Joseph a birthday package and of course included a bunch of things for the boys. She sent play dough and Kael loves it! He was so excited!
Rolling out the dough

Seriously there is pure joy on his face!

I guess he wasn't close enough when he was sitting in his chair so he had to get up on the table??!!

Here is Joseph playing his new Raving Rabbids game. He didn't even wait until his birthday to open it!

We had Thanksgiving at our house this year. While we were getting our part of the food ready Kael wanted to go down and play. He was downstairs forever and I was starting to wonder what kind of trouble he was getting into. Finally he came up and told me to come down and see what he did. Those of you who know Kael will not really be surprised by this. He is obsessed with animals and learning everything about them. He took all of his animals from the toy room and put them in groups around the room according to where they live. Here they are....
The Ocean

The Polar Regions (yes he really calls it that...actually he calls it the Polar Regents.)

Africa

The Desert

Bug Land. (some of my least favorite toys)

Tortoise Land

The Farm

The jungle

Australia

The Pets

And finally Dinosaur Land.
He is so smart! He wants to know everything about everything. His new favorite thing to do is to tell me that we live in Omaha. Then we will go over the bridge and he will say "Now we are crossing the Amizzouri (pronounced like Amazon) River and then we will be in Council Bluffs Iowa." Then when we come home he says the same thing and reads us the Welcome to Omaha sign. What a cute kid.
Another of my favorite stories of Kael from the last few weeks happened two weeks ago when we were getting ready for church. I had his clothes out ready for him to get dressed. I had picked out a tan sweater and brown cords. He came in and took one look at it and said "I CAN NOT wear that! I will look just like a monkey!" He ended up wearing blue cords.
Like I mentioned earlier, we had Thanksgiving at our house this year. We had 3 other families over that live here. It was fun and turned out really well for the first time any of us have put on our own party! This is Kael smashing some Oreos that we put on top of the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie (Joseph's favorite). Don't worry....we washed the rolling pin after the play dough fun!

My cute hubby putting eyes on the little turkeys that we made.

Our cute turkeys.

Targee and Jayson eating the turkey neck or some disgusting thing. And yes we are aware that we have a watermelon table cloth. It was the best any of us had. And I am also aware of the Halloween window clings in the back ground!

Kylee and her turkey

Kael, Aidan, and Gracie in the toy room.

Zoey in the toy room with one of those creepy fake bugs by her leg.

Julianne with her slush that she and Jayson made.

Me and Aubrey

Julianne and Jayson with their purple cabbage. (Jayson's family tradition)

Chubby Owen with two fist fulls of sweet potatoes that he stole off of someone's plate. We were in the process of putting on his pajama's, but he escaped!

We have some pumpkins that are a decoration for Halloween and Thanksgiving on our front porch. They have been there looking lovely until a few days ago one had a large hole in it. We caught the culprits in action yesterday.....

I guess the squirrels like pumpkin seeds too!

This one is mocking me.

Here are two of them. At one time we had four on our porch eating away!

Joseph and Aidan had left over pumpkin pie. I guess Aidan didn't finish his, but don't worry because Owen found it!!

He may look cute, but he is a little monster. He's always happy, but he's into EVERYTHING!

Yesterday we got out all of the Christmas decor. We have a little nativity that the kids can play with. They weren't really that excited about it last year, but this year Aidan played with it for at least three hours straight. He can say all of the people's names and carries them around with him. Sometimes he gets confused and calls the baby Owen though. Here he is playing with his nativity
....
I bet most of you were unaware of the three penguins who came from the far north to see the baby Jesus. Don't worry....Aidan made sure they were included!! Everytime we move them back where they go he puts them back in the nativity.

Aidan is starting to talk so much more lately. We put up the tree and then called him to come and see it. He walked in and looked at it and said "Oh! SANTA!" He is such a cutie.
We also introduced "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" to Kael and Aidan this year. It is the old one (the best one). Aidan is indifferent to it, but Kael has now watched it 8 times in 24 hours. He LOVES it! I caught him in the living room stealing ornaments off of the tree because he was being the Grinch. Last night when I was putting him to bed he said "Mommy, do you think that the Grinch is going to come to our house and swipe our Christmas?" I told him no because the Grinch is nice. He said "What if he turns back bad?" I told him that he couldn't come because we don't have a chimney. I was nervous then that he was going to ask how Santa was going to come then, but instead he said. "Oh. Okay. Well all those people with chimneys better watch out then!!" He is always keeping us entertained!
Our Tree.
One more thing....tomorrow is my wonderful, sexy, better than Edward, husband's 28th birthday. I just want to say how much I love him and tell him thank you for everything he does. He is the best husband and dad. Hope you had a great long weekend babe and a happy birthday tomorrow!!
