Our Summer Vacation!!

Well we made our semi-annual trek to Utah in mid-July. The boys have been looking forward to going and seeing all of the family for a long time. We were really excited, but I was nervous about the car ride. They were SO awesome though! We decided to sneak and start on Sunday the 12th instead of the next morning. We got up on Sunday morning and Owen was SO sick. He had a fever of 102 and his nose was running everywhere. I took Kael and Aidan to church with me and Joseph took Owen to the instacare at the hospital. We got back and Kael said that he was tired and he curled up on his bed and went to sleep. I knew something was wrong when he did that because it usually takes major convincing to even get him to sleep at night. Joseph got home with Owen and said that they thought he had an ear infection so they gave him some antibiotics. We sat down for lunch and decided that we were just going to pack up and go as soon as we could. When I went to wake Kael up he was burning up. I took his temperature and it was 103!! So I took him to the instacare while Joseph got some cleaning and packing done. Looking back I don't know what we were thinking!! We got Kael some antibiotics and loaded everything and everyone up. I think we were crazy! The kids did SO good. As soon as they got their medicine they started to feel better. We drove to Sidney, Nebraska that night which is about 5 and a half or six hours away.

Kael and Aidan thought it was a blast to stay in a "Ho--tail". They went right to sleep when we got there. Owen on the other hand was not so excited. He spent most of the night rolling around and talking to himself!! He's a really good sleeper....he just likes his own room!
The next morning we got up and had breakfast at our hotel. One of the workers asked me if all of the kids were mine. I just smiled and said yes, but I really thought "No, I just picked some random little kids to haul across the country with me!"
Here are the boys in front of the AmericInn in Sidney.
They were excited by now because they knew in just a few hours we would be seeing everyone!

We got there with no problems at all. We only stopped once (besides getting gas) at the Taco Time in Rock Springs. It was not even close to as good as the Taco Time in Brigham. My friend Amanda tells me that's because we went to the one on the wrong side of town, but the Brigham Taco Time is just the best.

Everyone was surprised to see us so soon! It was fun to surprise them and get to see everyone earlier. We went to the Brigham Taco Time for dinner that night! On Tuesday we got to hang around with Joseph's mom and Katie and the kids. There was a lot of jumping on the tramp and playing Wii. That night we drove down to Salt Lake and met Michelle and Dave and went to Crown Burger and walked around by the temple.

The next evening we went over to Jarom and Nicci's new house to have a BBQ. We got to go on a tour of their cute new town house and also of James' and Shawn's new town house becuase they live next door. We had a ton of good food and it was fun to see all of the cousins and Joseph's brothers families! Here are some pics of that.....

Chillin' in Jarom and Nicci's living room.

That's such a cute picture of Kael and Aidan sleeping. Don't remember seeing Kael asleep, except for a short time the night Owen was born!

Glad you had a great trip and the boys got better quickly! It's so crazy to see all the Johnson boys married and have big kids. Hope Joseph has a great year in school/clinic.
