Our Weekly Adventures

Well we have had a few more adventures this week! We didn't have the camera for all of them, but we do have quite a few pictures still. On Monday Joseph got to play indoor soccer! The team that he plays on is the worst one in the league, and they only have one game left, but he had a blast. He is hoping to start another team for next season. Tuesday I spent 3 hours finally unpacking all of Joseph and my clothes! We have WAY too many clothes, but they are all in good condition so I have a hard time getting rid of them, even if we don't wear them! Wednesday was a beautiful day and it was really hot! On Wednesday night I was making pizzas and had just put them in the oven when I heard an AWFUL sound.....the stinking TORNADO SIREN AGAIN! This is NOT funny anymore! I looked out the window to a blue sky and not a cloud in sight. We went downstairs with our neighbors Rob and Amanda and turned on the news. Apparantly there was a huge storm and tornados heading our way. We had a picnic of little pizzas in the basement while we stayed downstairs for FOUR hours under a tornado warning. Many of you may have heard about the Boy Scout camp that got hit....that is about 30 miles north of our house. We didn't see a tornado here in the Metro Area (that is funny....that is what they call it) but we did get 4 inches of rain in one hour. It was crazy! On Thursday we went on our first outing with three kids and one parent! This was the first time that I have ever...
1. Taken all three kids by myself somewhere for more than 5 minutes
2. Driven on the freeway in Nebraska by myself
3. Tried to follow directions and be the leader of the caravan that was trying to find our way!

I was successful!! We had a great time at a water park. Not one with water slides, but a park where all of the toys squirt water and you wear your swimming suite and it's a blast! The kids loved it and they are excited to take Joseph there sometime. I wish I would have taken my camera, but come on people.....I can't do too many things for the first time. People will start to think that I am growing up! But as soon as we take Joseph I will be sure to take the camera!

Friday night was the opening ceremonies for the College World Series. It is CRAZY here! Rosenblatt Stadium is about a mile and a half from our house and it is wild here! There are SO many people here! They are parking clear down here by our house and walking to the stadium. There are people here that are renting out their front yards for $8.00 a car and letting people park all over their yards! Also, there are a lot of people that would be wise to invest in more clothing. I don't understand why the people that would look decent with their shirt off are all covered and everyone that should NEVER take their shirts off apparantly left their shirts at home. YIKES! We were getting on the freeway last night and a ton of people were walking down to the stadium and we saw two guys walking together that had to weigh close to 300 pounds a piece. Ofcourse they were shirtless and they were both carrying two 24 packs of beer. One on each shoulder. They were with a lady who had on a shirt (thank goodness) but not much else and she had apparantly already had a few too many and was trying unsuccessfully to walk backwards and take their picture. It was better than the circus last week.

Saturday we had a jam packed day. In the morning we went to Lauritzen Gardens. These are some Botanical Gardens that are in our backyard. Literally. We got free passes in the mail. They are really pretty and we actually took our camera!! Here are a few pictures....

Kael and his friend Rob checking out some fish!

Our little walking group. Aidan, Rob, Amanda, Kael doing a crazy pose, me and Owen in the stroller.
The rose gardens. Dad...I am sure if you want to move and live at Village Green with us, they would give you a job here that you would love.

Kael in a little pipe in the Children's area.
Aidan wandering through the "grass"
Caught in a spider web!

Peeking out of a little house
A fun slide! One of the boy's favorite parts.
Playing in the bee hive

Aidan visting the Japanese Gardens

This is the stadium yesterday. If you look at all of those colored dots on the grass, those are people. Millions of them! They are in lines like at Disneyland. The ones where you just go back and forth through the ropes. They are just standing there waiting to get into the next game. And that is just the line for people WITH tickets!

Saturday evening we went to Lake Manawa in Iowa. It's just a small lake more like a reservoir. We went with a bunch of friends and had dinner and played volleyball. The kids had a great time running around and getting dirty!

Kael and Rylee following a frog!
Daddy helping Kael hold the little frog
Joseph was not too excited that I was taking his picture!

Owen enjoying the Lake
Kael and Aidan playing with Vinny. They love him! Thanks Dan and Kerry for letting them run around with him!
Some of our friends that came. Jon Egbert, Keri and Dan Masson, Natalie, Devin Matsumori, Ashley Larson, and Tyler and Tiffany Boss

Bo and Rylee Egbert chillin on the blanket.
Hugh Matsumori and Owen playing. Owen is 4 days older than Hugh. They are going to be trouble soon!
Aidan on the way home! He was so tired and SO dirty! We had a great time and didn't get eaten too bad by the mosquitos!
Finally, today was church and Father's Day. Happy Father's Day dad and Grandpa Chad! We miss you and love you! Thanks for everything you do for us! Hope you had a great day. Also, Happy Father's Day to Joseph. I love you! Thanks for being the best dad to our boys and being such a good example! Thanks for taking care of all of us and playing with the boys just like you are one of them. You are the best! I love you!
Hope you all had a great week!! :)

Steph, this post was hilarious! I know exactly what you mean about going out alone with the three kids. I don't do it often because they run away from me! Grrrr. Anyway, about the people with no shirts and everything, tornadoes and pizza picnics, it sounds like a blast living there! The gardens in your backyard are gorgeous. How lucky!

I can't believe how many people go to the college world series and I am TOTALLY with you when you say that way too many non-good looking people think that they can strut their stuff. GROSS! anyways, i like in 174. but yeah come over or I'll come over, or we just need to get together. We are going back to the sprinkler park tomorrow (tues) at about 1:00. well talk to you later!

I've been worried about you being so near the tornadoes and floods. Good to hear you are surviving, and quite well I might add. Seeing the pictures of your boys makes me miss them so much. You guys are great parents to expose your kids to such a variety of activities wherever you go. Love you lots.

You have the cutest boys, It looks like there are some fun things to do there, and I totally know what ou are saying about taking all 3 kids out by yourself, I usually try to avoid that if at all possible. i always feel like I look like a crazy woman who can't control her kids :)

Yay for you for not wasting any time exploring the area! Sounds like you guys are having a blast, minus the tornado warnings..kinda new/exciting at first, but I'm sure it gets annoying!!

Yikes.. please don't die in the tornados! That is crazy!! I went to the dr. in Brigham yesterday and saw your Mom when I was walking in. I went to talk to her when I was leaving, but she wasn't there!! Tell her Hi for me!

So glad to see you are loving it there in OMaha. It was so much fun...and jarom and I just decided that looking at your blog makes us homesick in a strange way! We loved it there....and It is so odd to see pictures of you there with friends I used to hang out with. Change is so difficult...especially leaving people and friends behind.

Have a wonderful summer.
