Thanksgiving??!!

If you think really hard.....way back to a month called November you will remember two things. One....it was the last time that I posted on this blog. And two.....it was Thanksgiving. I am really trying to get caught up with everything so here it goes!! First Kael's class had a Thanksgiving party. Well, sort of anyway. We had Stoop. Each kid brought a can of soup and some corn bread. They threw all of the soup in one big pot and mixed it together and got Stoop. It was an object lesson on how we are all different but when we are all put together we make something pretty good. I'm not sure this was the best object lesson, because.....well.....the stoop was gross. But the cornbread and entertainment was excellent.

Here is Kael and some of his class members singing a Thanksgiving song.
I think he is supposed to be singing, but he is posing for me instead.

Here is a pic of Kael singing A-Too-Da-Ta.
If you have never sung it, you should. It's awesome.

Aidan came with me to Kael's Thanksgiving party.
Not surprisingly, he loved the Stoop.

We got to go home for Thanksgiving this year. It was a really short trip, but it was really fun to be there with everyone for Thanksgiving dinner and for the Johnson family sleep over. Here is a picture of the boys at the airport. Our flight left on Thanksgiving morning at 6:10. Yes, 6:10. We were at the airport at 4:30. The kids were extremely good. Here they are eating their Coco Puffs.

While in Utah we celebrated Joseph's birthday. Here he is posing with his present.
I am not sure why he has on shorts on Thanksgiving.

Here he is pretending that he is mad about his present.

Brooke helping him celebrate his new XBox 360.
Somehow this year I was blinded by my love for my husband and also by the joy of the holiday season and I bought him an XBox. Now in the stark reality of January/February I am cursing the day that this happened. Actually, the XBox can stay.....it's Modern Warfare 2 that is quickly going to find it's way to the nearest dumpster.

Kael, Brooke, and Kees chilling on Thanksgiving

Kael found this hat in Nathan's closet and wore it for the rest of the weekend.

Don't worry.....we managed to hit up Casita Burrito Friday while we were in Brigham.
We LOVE Taco Time.

Grandpa Steve doing his Sudoku and Kael drawing pictures of animals.
It's his new obsession.
The day after Thanksgiving we always have the Johnson Family sleepover.
Here is Robbie reading some of the other kids a bedtime story.

Uncle James with the new babies.
Kaleb, Teagan, and Rya

Grandpa Chad and Aidan making funny faces.

And it wouldn't be a Johnson party without "random feats of strength".
This year the goal was to get on top of the excercise ball and see who could get the farthest across the room without falling off.

Some of us almost did ourselves in.

And then we got rid of the excercise ball and just did weird jumps and stuff.

Oh dear.

We are never lacking for entertainment or laughs!!

Grandpa Chad reading to some of the boys

Korbin and Owen wearing some of the big letters.

The kids made reindeer out of their feet and hands.

When I said kids I meant all of them. :)

This is Grandma Sid and Kael and Aidan getting ready to go to the airport.
Our flight left to go back to Omaha at 5:45 am on Sunday. We got up at 2:45. Again the kids were extremely good!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!

I absolutely loved the "in the air" jumping pictures. Those Johnson brothers know how to have a good time while entertaining everyone else.
