The Johnson Christmas Eve Party

We celebrate with Joseph's family on Christmas Eve every year. This year we had everyone there for the first time since Joseph got home from his mission. It was a lot of fun and there are getting to be a ton of us! There are 14 adults, 9 grandkids and a baby on the way (Jake and Katie). This party doesn't get quite as wild as the Thanksgiving party, but it's still a ton of fun to get together with everyone. This year Grandma Chele and Grandpa Chad wanted the kids to act out the Nativity. I wouldn't say it was a disaster, but it sure was funny to watch. Here are a few pictures from the party...

One of the best parts of the party. The Johnson boys and their dad singing Christmas hymns. They all have beautiful voices and can sing parts and everything. It's so fun to just sit and listen to them sing.

Owen with Aunt Nicci
A bunch of characters....Kael, Darant, Shelby, Robbie, and Mick

Okay...now for the nativity.....here is Joseph (Johnny), Mary (Robbie), and the donkey (Joseph). Robbie got really embarrassed and started to cry because she didn't want to ride on the donkey! Oh dear! She is wearing a lacy curtain on her head and John has a baby bib on his.

Two of the three wise men! Nice ears Kael.
All three wisemen. It's amazing we made it through without one of them crying.

Aidan....the lone shepherd.
Shelby the angel.
Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus...played by Owen. Mary is still upset about having to ride a donkey.
We had a lot of fun being with the family and getting to see everyone. One of the main reasons that I love the holidays!

I love the nativity pictures. Acting it out is my favorite Christmas Eve activity. Check out Jared's blog to see ours in Georgia (6johnsons.blogspot.com).
