Well.....we made it! We moved all the way to Omaha two weeks ago. We are actually really liking it so far. I don't know how I will feel when Joseph starts school on Tuesday, but for now it's pretty good. I have posted a few pictures of our new house, but not all of the rooms are quite ready so I don't have all of them on here. Also, apparantly I was too traumatized by the fact that we were moving because I didn't even take one picture of the truck or anything! We had a 26 foot truck. If you really want to see a picture you can check Kristin and Jarom's blog on the side ------>>> and she documented their move really well. We filled the truck completely. Enough that I think Joseph was holding stuff in while my dad locked the back door. It is crazy how much junk we really have. We started out on Tuesday morning and drove to Cheyenne. My parents and Joseph's parents came with us so we weren't lonely and so one of us wasn't stuck in the Pilot with three kids! We got a hotel in Cheyenne that had an indoor pool, so we got to go swimming and get pizza as a little reward for the kids for being good in the car for so long. The next day we drove the rest of the way to Omaha. It was a good thing that I had my parents because Aidan decided to have explosive poop all day this time and we had to pull off of the road twice and change him. Thanks to Spray N Wash with Resolve power his white BYU shorts that were brand new are now poop free and a sparkling color of white again. When we finally pulled into our new townhouse village (I don't know what to call it) a million guys started pouring out of their houses and unloaded our truck in an hour!! It was great! We had 3 more days with our parents there to help us unload, get supplies for the new house, and have some fun touring Omaha. They left early Sunday morning and since then we have managed to meet some new friends, and spend some money. Joseph bought himself a new flat screen 46" inch TV with our "economic stimulus" check. His excuse was that the economy needed to be stimulated. I don't know about that, but the TV sure is cool. I am getting used to all of the new roads in Omaha and the fact that there are absolutely NO mountains around here, so I never know what direction I am going. Don't worry though.....if you are on a street that goes East to West then it is numbered and if you are on a street that goes North to South it is lettered. Also, there are a million streets in between with random names. We live about a block from the Missouri River and from Iowa. So I can now proudly say that the farthest east I have ever been is Iowa instead of Utah. Look at me, expanding my horizons! :) Here are a few pictures of our new house in Omaha. More will come later as the rooms get finished......
This is our front porch looking in....the other door is our new friends Bonnie and Tyler. The little tree got planted last night on the grass between our houses. Apparantly it gets really hot in the summer when the sun shines right at us. Tyler says that we should start to benefit from the shade of the tree in about 10 years. :) Dad....it's a non-fruit bearing pear tree. Also, I have flowers in my flower box thanks to my dad who helped me to have the slightest clue how to keep flowers alive. I have had a lot of comments on them.
This is our front porch looking out. Yes, Nebraska has trees and is really pretty green right now. There are a ton of other town houses around too.
Our living room. At least from one view. I took these pictures last night and it was dark, so I need to take some more.
Our little back yard. All of the yards are hooked together so the kids get to roam and play with their new friends.
Kael and Aidan's new room. I took a lot of pictures of this one because it wasn't done when my parents left, so they are mostly for their benefit.
Another view of their room....
And another one.
The fun toy room in the basement. Kael and Aidan think that that is their castle under the stairs.
Another view of the toy room. Aidan loves the books as you can see.
