Our Summer Vacation!

Well here it goes. I am going to attempt to start blogging our vacation! We have over 450 pictures so far and we haven't downloaded any since Sunday and we still have a week left of vacation!! Blogging it all could take forever! :) We have had a great time and we are really glad that we decided to come instead of staying home! I know when I go back I am going to be homesick, but it was worth it. We have done so many fun things in the past two weeks.

We left Omaha on Wednesday July 16th. We didn't get started as soon as we wanted to. We took Aidan and Owen to the doctor for their 3 year and 9 month check ups. I thought they were going to have to get shots, but they were both caught up on them so they didn't. That was the good part. The bad part was that Owen had an ear infection and a yeast infection. We had to get prescriptions which took us an extra hour! :( The good part....I discovered what interesting things Walgreens has to offer. I got a huge People magazine about child stars and what has happened to them. It kept me entertained for quite a while through Wyoming! Also, another good thing....the boys new doctor is AWESOME! Thanks Kristin for the recommendation. She was great and they all loved her!

Anyway, we started out our trip around 3:30. We were making good time so we decided to call and cancel our hotel reservation in Sidney. We figured we could definitely make it to Cheyenne that night with no problems. Soon after I canceled the reservation Joseph received his first speeding ticket of his life. Apparantly 10 over the speed limit is too much in North Platte, Nebraska! :) Who knew?? Oh well. He was actually pretty proud of it. I should have taken his picture with the ticket. The cop made him get out of the car and empty all of his pockets and go and sit in the police car with him while he ran his license. I guess in Nebraska if you have a wife and 3 kids in a packed full SUV you are a criminal. We kept going and we drove through some pretty cool lightening storms. When we reached Cheyenne it was around 10:00. Joseph could have kept driving but the boys were getting restless and wouldn't sleep. We tried to find a hotel in Cheyenne, but they were completely booked. I guess it was Frontier Days and there was not a room in the whole place! So we kept going and stayed at a really nice place in Laramie. The boys weren't too happy to keep going, but it made for a little shorter drive the next morning. That afternoon we hit our first sign of Utah. They have a Taco Time in Lyman, Wyoming! It was like heaven. We love the Brigham City Taco Time and we have yet to find one that even compares to it. They don't have them in Nebraska (along with many other things like Cafe Rio, and Chick-Fil-A) so we were so glad when we found this one and it was GOOD. We decided it was a close second to the Brigham Taco Time. We finally got to Brigham City around 3:00. We were so excited to get out of the car and the kids were so excited to see their some of their cousins, some aunts and uncles, and their grandparents.

We spent the rest of Thursday and Friday just hanging around between both grandmas houses. My dad came home from a business trip and brought some toys for them. He brought Kael some Pokemon and Aidan a Buzz Lightyear. They were so excited!! It was great. We have been going non stop since then. I think that I am going to blog each day/event seperately so that it will be easier. Sorry if you get bored of our vacation, but we have had a blast and we want to remember every second!! Thanks to everyone who hung out with us and let us stay with them and everything. We love you! :)

Steph.. we have to do something before you leave!! I will be so bummed if we don't! We are still planning on coming to see you in Nebraska sometime, but we need to do something while you are here. We saw your mom at the clinic again.. we had to go in for Brandon.. I am not saying what he had over this.. he would be embarassed! :) Anyway.. that was a crazy day, so I didn't call, but we are coming up this weekend to go hiking but won't be done till sunday. Agh! I hope we can still get together.. maybe dinner or something! Also.. my cousins used to live in Lyman Wyoming... there is NOTHING there, so I am super surprised there is a taco time there now! :) And I will agree.. none are better than the one in Brigham City! Who would have thought! I will try to give you a call or you call me so we can set something up before you leave!
