Well we survived our first Christmas on our own. We have never ever done Christmas with just our family in the 8.5 years that we have been married. I will say that it was very relaxing, not having to pack anything, or get on a plane, or get dressed for that matter. But it was also really different. I think the kids enjoyed being at their own house and I enjoyed not having to figure out how we were going to get all of our stuff home with us. But I missed the regular things that we usually do. My grandma's Christmas party....even the drama....that's what really makes the party, and the Johnson Christmas Eve party, and the sleeping in the same room with everyone at my mom's house. And I must say I was jealous when I heard that we were missing out on Hunan Village last night, and on a rousing game of Clue today. We did have a good time together though, and it was fun to have the kids all to ourselves. The boys were up at 6:15 this morning. It wouldn't have been so bad, but Joseph and I were up until around 1:30 trying to put a treadmill together (one of the presents that Santa brought us). We opened tons and tons of presents and finally decided to eat breakfast around 11:30. We Skyped with both families and even got to talk to my brother Nathan in Panama. All in all it was a great day, and we got a lot of presents!

Christmas Morning
Kael and Aidan checking out the cookies and milk that Santa ate.
Getting ready to run down the stairs to see if Santa came.
Kael checking out all of his loot from Santa
Aidan went straight for his Buzz Lightyear action figure. He has talked about this thing for the last 3 months.
Santa brought Owen a Super Why action figure.
Oh Yah! It's Dragonoid Colossus! This has also been talked about for months.
Checking out the wonder that is Dragonoid Colossus
Aidan playing with his Gormiti
Santa also brought a Bakugan Wii game
Checking out the Scooby Doo books.
Showing off his Go Diego Go game
Yay! Mickey's Roundup!
He loved Super Why. He has been carrying him around all day!
Getting out all of the new Bakugan.
Not sure who is more excited!
Showing off Buzz with a cheesy smile
Owen couldn't wait one more minute to put together his alphabet train puzzle
Dragonoid Colossus out of the package.
Still playing with Buzz
Dragonoid Colossus again...who knows about this face.
Reading an alphabet book that Santa brought. Not sure why I have a weird bald spot!
Playing Bakugan fight against Gormiti
Giving Buzz a high five
Ready to open presents from Uncle Chris and Aunt Brooke
Showing off his reading book
Showing off his Math book. He yelled "YES! Math is my favorite!"
Not sure what the peace sign is supposed to be.
So happy that we let her sleep in until this point
Posing with her Olivia pig.
I guess she spit up right before the picture....I didn't even notice until now!
Looking at his ABC writing book from Uncle Chris and Aunt Brooke
Joseph and his new Huskers shirt.
Still a big BYU fan, we just have to pick a side out here....Huskers or Iowa.
Bakugan stuff from Livi
A Donkey Kong guy from Owen
Showing Super Why that he got a Why Reader just like him!
(from Kael)
There is that crazy pose again!
Very excited about Toy Story 3
Word Fish from Jacer Man
His very own Super Why Cape
Joseph and I made these for the kids. One side is Super (their initial).
The other side of Kael and Aidan's is Batman. Owen's is Super Why, and Olivia has a crown.
He was SO excited about Marble Works
Checking out Buzz's Spaceship from Grandpa and Grandma
Livi with her baby doll
Checking out her Scentsy pig from Grandma Chele and Grandpa Chad
She LOVES it!
Checking out her new baby!
It makes noises and she LOVES it and talks right back to it.
Wearing her baby in the backpack carrier
Super Why himself with his mini me.
With all of his Super Readers. He finally decided that he liked the Princess...it took him an hour or two.
We got more than spoiled by everyone. Joseph got a watch, a laptop, and a BYU shirt. I couldn't take a picture of him because I was being attacked by Olivia by then. I got an IPod and a necklace, and some black diamond earrings. There are some pictures, but I was showing a little too much cleavage in them.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas!! We love you!

Oh Steph, I don't know why it makes me laugh to see all the boy stuff around your house. I cannot imagine what it is like with THREE little boys! How fun. Your children are so beautiful. Especially that little princess:).

What a great Christmas for a super family. I know from a parent's perspective how hard it is to have a family missing at Christmas time. Thank heavens for blogs and SKYPE. Your family is growing up so fast. We miss seeing you.
